After relatively busy free agency, Ahmat are ready to go for the upcoming season. There was no plan to make it this action packed off season, but might as well spend all the money available as you can't take it with you for the upcoming seasons. After losing some trusted players for free agency, time to make a splash and find new players to carry the weight of not winning, welcome to hell P Kane.
Ahmat team:
Goalies:
Holtby - Hopefully no 1 goalie for Dallas, who have quite a weird goalie situation at the moment with 4 goalies who all could possibly be no 1
Hill - New no 1 for San Jose, which might not be much in all honesty, but should at least get tons of saves this season
Talbot - Kähkönen might not be able to take the no 1 slot yet, so expecting 40+ games from Talbot this season too
Overall the goalie situation is much much better than it was last season, which in all honesty is not very difficult
Defence:
Heiskanen - This will be the season, bar injuries, that Miro will break 50 points, which is not too shabby for D
Josi - One of the top dmen in the league for quite a while already, no reason why that would change now
Pietrangelo - Similar to Josi, top dman and expecting quite a bit from him
Lindell - 25 points, physical game against top lines each night, I'll take that
Karlsson - Okay, doesn't have a scooby doo what defence means, and has been on quite bad decline lately, but still not that old that couldn't improve and much and be even close to worth his salary
Yandle - Expectations might not be very high from 3rd pair for Flyers, but maybe will get some 2nd PP minutes to get points
Miller - I thought his rookie season was pretty good, and expecting him to take off from there and to become dependable player for future seasons
Välimäki - Shame about the pointless D contracts that were give lately by Flames, hopefully doesn't have negative impact on Juuso's minutes. Just hope he stays healthy and could improve a lot
Pretty happy with my Defence to be honest, and hoping that from the picks I will get similar level players in future too, high expectations
Forwards:
Barkov - Selke.
Aho - Sepe is getting better and better each year, properly level headed guy who will bring good amount of points a minutes
Karlsson - Last year of his contract, hopefully get's a quick start for the season and could be point per game player
Dvorak - Bit of a reach, but hoping that will get good minutes and some PP time with Montreal this season
Teräväinen - Aho's partner in crime, tiny but skillful
Hyman - Might get to play with McJesus, not a bad place to play to be honest
Barbashev - Besides Hyman, probably the only forward for me who is going to get his hits over 100 this season and not expecting anything else from him
Fabbri - Really like his game for Wings, shame about the injuries
Kane - Bit like TT, small but bloody hell he's skillful
Granlund - Already at the age around 10 or so, you could see that he will "make it" in hockey, the vision and skills were waaaay above the others in rink then. Unfortunately Mikke has never been very good skater, even if he has improved that in past seasons, but that's the thing why he never reached the star level, everything else is there
Donskoi - Ahmat captain of course
Smith - Since his days in Boston, always wanted Red Wings to sign him with no luck, at least I have him here to keep me happy
Nyquist - Just hoping that he stays healthy and can help the team out with 50 points or so
Chytil - Starts the season as no 3 C for Rags, but hopefully will gain more responsibility during the long season
Steel - It's make or break season for Steel, if there is no improvements this season then EL Release will call next off season
Appleton - Hopefully will get good new start in Seattle and bring 30-40 points, I'd be happy with that
Kiviranta - JFK must stay fit and the points will come. Dallas has very good roster this season, so will always play with quality players when on ice
More options here than in previous seasons. Some are certain quality players, some maybe not so but decent mix of players anyway
