Section 1: Draft Format and Procedure
a) The Entry Level Player Draft (a.k.a. EL Player Draft) takes place before the start of each regular season, and is considered the official start of our Dynasty season.
b) The draft will include 5 Rounds and each team will be given one pick per round per season. Selections are to be made in the "Player Drafts" section at the bottom of the message board. Go to the specific year of the draft, then to the specific round, and post your selection by replying to the thread with your draft choice. The post announcing your pick must include the following:
c) Each manager will have 24 hours to make their selection once a pick they own goes "on the clock". If the manager fails to make a selection within 24 hours, the draft will advance to the next pick. If your draft pick was passed over in this manner you may make your bypassed selection at any time simply by posting a pick in the manner as listed in rule b).
d) If a draft pick is traded while it is on the clock the clock will reset and the new owner will have a full 24 hours from the time the trade is processed to make their selection. You must wait until the trade is processed as there is a review process that must take place and this will avoid advancing the draft before a trade is certified as league compliant and approved.

- Player's full name
- Player's position (per Fantrax)
- Player's NHL Team
- i.e. John Hockeyman, D, Hartford Whalers
c) Each manager will have 24 hours to make their selection once a pick they own goes "on the clock". If the manager fails to make a selection within 24 hours, the draft will advance to the next pick. If your draft pick was passed over in this manner you may make your bypassed selection at any time simply by posting a pick in the manner as listed in rule b).
- If you wish to bypass your selection for any reason (lack of an open roster spot, no player that interests you or you wish to defer it for use at a later date) simply post a message that explains your intention to defer the pick and your pick will immediately be bypassed putting the next manager on the clock to make a selection.
- If you elect to Defer a draft pick, it is not eligible to be used until after the on-going EL Player Draft itself concludes.
- All draft picks that are deferred (either due to time expiration or manager decision) must be used by the Deferred Pick Deadline, November 30th at 11:59pmET/8:59pmPT, in the year that draft has taken place. At that point, any and all draft picks still unused simply expire.
d) If a draft pick is traded while it is on the clock the clock will reset and the new owner will have a full 24 hours from the time the trade is processed to make their selection. You must wait until the trade is processed as there is a review process that must take place and this will avoid advancing the draft before a trade is certified as league compliant and approved.
- If a bypassed/deferred pick is traded and will not clear the league review process before the Deferred Pick Deadline (11:59pmET/8:59pmPT on November 30th) the manager that is receiving the pick will have a chance to make their selection after the deadline has passed once the league review process has concluded.
