Issue: Excluding Playoff Teams from the DHL EL Player Draft LotteryThis poll will remain active for 4 days from the time it is posted.
A ' YES' vote means... If a team that made last season’s playoffs owns a 1st round pick of a team that missed last season’s playoff, that pick will not be included in the lottery draw. In this case, that 1st round pick will automatically slot in behind any of the 1st round picks that were eligible for the lottery, post draw. If there is more than once such draft pick, they will be seeded according to reverse-standings order, as per usual. Note: If a non-playoff team holds the 1st round pick of another non-playoff team, that pick will remain eligible for the draft lottery as normal. Expected Effects: - This rule will prevent playoff-level teams from lucking their way into a first overall or otherwise high selection, while still maintaining the generally quality of the pick they acquired (remains top 5).
- This should promote parity, ensuring non-playoff teams are getting priority in the draft.
- Playoff-level teams holding multiple 1st round picks may be more motivated to trade one or more of those 1st round picks at the trade deadline.
A ' NO' vote means... No change to the way we operate our draft lottery.

And just because a real example may help people understand this proposal better, this is how this year's draft lottery would have looked:
1st overall - Haukiputaan Ahmat 2nd overall - Simi Valley Kings 3rd overall - Portland Buckaroos 4th overall - Castleford Coyotes 5th overall - Tampa Bay Thunder (from Bratislava Bears)
(As a playoff team, Tampa Bay would have been ineligible to participate, so would have automatically slotted in at 5th overall)

With an 8-3 vote in favour, Playoff Teams will now be excluded from the EL Player Draft Lottery each year.
This will begin with the 2024 draft lottery.
