**This is a transcript of a league-wide email that was sent out. Just posting a copy here for convenience.**
Hey hey everyone!
Now that the Stanley Cup has been handed out, and the NHL draft begins tonight, I'm going to renew our league and start pushing forward our spreadsheet for the coming season. The Dynasty Hockey League off-season has officially begun!
There's a LOT of business to sort out over the next few months. Beyond the usual off-season activities like the Draft Lottery, EL Player Draft and the opening of the Free Agency Window, the aim is to have at least a few off-season conferences between the managers. While we've normally only done one of these in the off-season, as part of the Draft Lottery, there's just too much to discuss this time to have a single conference cover it all. Beyond the rule changes we intend to go through as league, Paul of the Simi Valley Kings has a proposal to substantially change the league's contract structure going forward. It's rather radical, so I'd like to have you all look at/resolve that proposal before anything else, as its implementation may solve other rule change proposals out-right. An online conference has already taken place with Paul outlining his proposal to Jason (League Governor), Doug (League Legislator), and myself, which was recorded and will be provided to all other managers to review on their own time. Of course, further discussion with the rest of the managers will be had on the subject, but with how hectic the free-for-all of 12 managers can be, I figured this may be a better way to at least start things off.
Before going any further, however, I have to do my annual check-in with every team to see who is coming back for another season and who is parting ways.
As I always state, I know this league takes much more commitment than the usual hockey pool, and both lives and priorities change over time. Each of you are obviously very welcome to come back for the 2022 season, but I, and the rest of the owners, totally understand if any of you would like to step away from league duties.
Please get back to me on the boards (whether through a Private Message) or through email (aluker22@gmail.com) with your status for the coming DHL season. There's not a set deadline to let me know, but please reach out as soon as you can after you've put some thought into it. If I haven't heard back in a reasonable amount of time, I may have to just take that as a sign and potentially find a replacement manager, unfortunately. Alternatively, if you're unsure about your status, feel free to send me a note and we can talk things over before reaching an answer, if that's something that you feel may help.
Looking forward to hearing from each of you, otherwise keep your eyes out for an update soon about Paul's contract-structure proposal!
Thanks
-Adam/Commish
