Section 1: IR Replacement Qualifiers and Procedure
a) If a player on your MAJOR roster becomes injured during the season, you can place them on IR on Fantrax, and select a player from your MINOR roster to fill in for them until the injured player returns.
d) When placing a player on IR on FanTrax, please make a post in the IR Replacements section (under TRANSACTIONS) over on the messageboard to indicate you are doing so. Please communicate who you are putting on IR, and who their chosen IR Replacement is.
c) Selecting an IR Replacement costs 1 Transaction, deducted from your team's weekly total. When the original player becomes healthy again, they may be returned to the line-up at no further Transaction cost. The chosen IR Replacement must be returned to the MINOR roster as part of this move.
d) A MINOR IR Replacement player cannot be placed on IR themselves (as they are not officially on the MAJOR roster). If an IR Replacement becomes IR-eligible, the team is welcome to exchange that IR Replacement for a different MINOR player, who becomes the new IR Replacement for the original injury.
e) When an injured player is activated from the NHL's IR, managers are permitted a grace period before having to return their injured player back to the line-up (3 consecutive NHL games played). This gives managers time to make any needed roster decisions before the player comes back, while also giving them some assurance that the original player is healthy again. Howver, DHL managers are welcome to return their players to duty earlier than that if they see fit.
f) If a player currently on IR is traded in our league, the IR Replacement must be DEMOTED. The team receiving the injured player can assign that player to their IR and select an IR Replacement at no additional Transaction cost, if indicated and performed at the time of the trade.
a) If a player on your MAJOR roster becomes injured during the season, you can place them on IR on Fantrax, and select a player from your MINOR roster to fill in for them until the injured player returns.
- The replacement player HAS to be a similar position to the injured player he is replacing. Forward for Forward (C or either Wing), Defenseman for Defenseman, Goalie for Goalie.
d) When placing a player on IR on FanTrax, please make a post in the IR Replacements section (under TRANSACTIONS) over on the messageboard to indicate you are doing so.
- If you would like to exchange your chosen IR Replacement at any point during the IR duty, you may spend 1 weekly Transaction to select a different player from your MINORS to serve as an IR Replacement. This can be done multiple times at the cost of 1 Transaction per replacement
d) A MINOR IR Replacement player cannot be placed on IR themselves (as they are not officially on the MAJOR roster).
- If the original player plays 1 or 2 games, but then misses the next, you are not required to activate your injured player, or DEMOTE your chosen IR Replacement. The game count will reset, and start counting to 3 when they once again return.
- IR Replacement GOALTENDERS function the same way, but ALL games played by the original player will count, whether consecutive or not (meaning games dressed, even in a back-up role).
- If a recently-healthy player is returns to game action, but is suspended before they reach their 3rd consecutive game, each game missed due to suspension counts as a consecutive game for the purposes of their replacement eligibility.
- If an IR Replacement is still on a roster after the original player has played 3 consecutive games, the commissioner will forcibly DEMOTE the IR Replacement, and put the original player back on the bench, no matter the consequences this may have on a team's set lines.
- This rule may be difficult to keep tabs on, so if you notice an IR Replacement is being kept in violation of the rules, please notify the commissioner of the infraction so it can be rectified.
f) If a player currently on IR is traded in our league, the IR Replacement must be DEMOTED. The team receiving the injured player can assign that player to their IR and select an IR Replacement at no additional Transaction cost, if indicated and performed at the time of the trade.
