Hello everyone,
All the polls have closed as part of our rules discussion, so we are moving onto the next stage of our DHL off-season.
We are now entering our 2nd year of the "Allen Contract Structure" era of the DHL. This year (and from here on out), things will be a little simpler now that we no longer have to worry about retro-fitting any previous contracts into the new system. In case anyone needs a refreshed however, TERM players that are signed to multi-year contracts now enter an "Option" status after completing their first 2 seasons of their contract (a.k.a. their "A" and "B" years). When this happens, their current owner is given a few choices on how to proceed with that player's salary going forward. We are at that stage now with any player given a multi-year from the 2021 Free Agent class.
If you go to your team's tab, you will see a bunch of green cells, which represent when a contract reaches its Option stage. There are soft-green ones ■, and bright-green ones ■. Soft-green represents a future Option, which we don't have to worry about until their respective off-season in the future. Bright-green cells, on the other hand, are Options that need to be decided upon now.
Mousing over one of these bright-green cells (they will all be in the 2023 column) will reveal a pop-up note which displays what your choices are for the player's salary going forward:
Also indicated at the bottom is the player's expiring salary.
***PLEASE NOTE: A TERM player's contract only reaches Option status ONCE. Whichever decision you go with, that player WILL become a Free Agent again once your chosen Option runs its course.***
In order for everyone to make their choices fairly, and so no one is basing their decisions on other managers' choices, I will PM you each individually for your choices. My Options are already completed and have been filed away with today's date, so there's no worry about me having an advantage in this regard. Once I have received them all, I will publish the decisions made, and we can start looking at EL Player Draft dates.
If there are any questions, feel free to ask here, or otherwise in our PM conversation.
Thanks.

- If you would like to extend a player's contract to the maximum 3 years (i. X), that player will earn a $10 raise in annual salary
- If you would like to extend a player's contract for 2 years (ii. Y), that player will earn a $5 raise in annual salary
- If you would like to extend a player's contract for 1 year (iii. Z), that player will earn the same annual salary as they previously did
- If you would NOT like to extend a player's contract (iv. FA), that player can be immediately released and become a free agent
Also indicated at the bottom is the player's expiring salary.
